The company was created by comic book artist Michael Turner in January 2003. The name “Aspen” comes from the main character in Turner’s comic series, Fathom. Aspen Comics released the fantasy adventure Soulfire in 2004, its first ongoing series. Both Fathom and Soulfire series are among the top best selling comics in US market. Fathom vol. 7, also known as Michael Turner’s All New Fathom is published in June 2018. Soulfire Volume 6: Future Shock is published in July 2018. In March 2018, New York Times reported the founder of Marvel Studio David Maisel along with Scott Manson, the man behind Justin Bieber, would be building a new film studio with Aspen Comics!
